Sweden-based SKF will start supplying parts to Volvo Car Corporation in China.
The contract is for the delivery of wheel hub bearing units and MacPherson suspension bearing units for the newly launched Volvo S60L car model, which will be manufactured in Volvo's new factory in Chengdu.
SKF has been supplying HBUs and MSBUs for the Volvo S80L car model in China since 2007.
The financial terms of the supply contract were not revealed.
Last year, SKF announced the investment into a new SKF Campus and automotive factory to manufacture their third generation wheel hub bearing units and MacPherson suspension bearing units. This investment enables SKF to increase local capacity to support Volvo's and other automotive customers' growth in China. The new factory in the Jiading area of Shanghai will be fully operational in 2014.
