China's Yingli Green Energy To Supply PV To Recurrent Energy

Baoding-based Yingli Green Energy, has signed an agreement to supply U.S. distributed power company Recurrent Energy with crystalline photovoltaic modules through to 2012 for use in Recurrent Energy's distributed solar projects.

These projects typically range from 2MW to 20 MW, and are in the USA, Canada, Europe, and emerging markets.

According to Liansheng Miao, the chairman and CEO of Yingli Green Energy, the agreement underline's the company's commitment to meet the industry's demand for reliable, scalable and cost-competitive modules.He added that they were particularly excited to work with Recurrent Energy as it is pursuing an aggressive market development strategy with a strong pipeline of projects across North America and Europe.

Arno Harris, the CEO of Recurrent Energy commented that with this strategic partnership, he was confident in Recurrent's ability to provide industry-leading distributed solar power to customers worldwide since the combination of Yingli Green Energy's high quality modules, manufacturing scale, and competitive pricing fitted well with Recurrent's development goals — especially within the rapidly-growing utility market.

Yingli Green Energy designs, manufactures and sells PV modules and designs, assembles, sells and installs PV systems that are connected to an electricity transmission grid or operate on a stand-alone basis. It sells its PV modules to system integrators and distributors located in various markets around the world, including Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Belgium, France, China, and the USA.

Recurrent Energy is a distributed power company and provider of solar energy. The company develops and owns solar power plants located in areas of high demand where power is needed most. Notable projects include a planned 5MW installation with The City and County of San Francisco, which will be the largest municipal solar installation in the United States upon completion.
