Chinese Software Maker Boosts Operating Revenue

China's Kingsoft published its interim financial report and the financial report for the second quarter of 2013, stating that the company achieved operating revenue of CNY953 million in the first half of 2013, a year-on-year increase of 55%; and its net profit reached CNY381 million.

Meanwhile, the company's operating revenue for the second quarter of 2013 reached CNY497 million, a year-on-year increase of 54% and an increase of 9% compared with the previous quarter. Its net profit was CNY170 million during the same period.

Kingsoft previously implemented a strategic transformation to its mobile Internet products and turned its office software sector into a subsidiary via management buy-outs. With these measures, Kingsoft formed a strategic front in gaming, office software, Internet security, and cloud computing.

According to the financial report, Kingsoft's online games revenue increased by 34% year-on-year to CNY537 million during the first half of 2013, accounting for 56% of the total revenue of the company; while application software revenue increased by 101% year-on-year to CNY407 million, accounting for 43% of the total revenue.

At present, Kingsoft's WPS office software claims 56 million monthly active users for the personal version and 20 million monthly active users for the mobile version around the world.
