Huawei Investment Holdings Limited has invested CNY11,691 in the purchase of a 1,900-mu piece of land in Dongguan, Guangdong, to build Huawei Device's manufacturing research headquarters.

According to reports in Chinese local media, the land is located to the south of Songshan Lake. With an area of 233,816 square meters, the transfer period is 50 years.

Prior to this, rumors swirled that Huawei Device decided to build its headquarters to the south of Songshan Lake, covering an area of 1,900 mu. According to Huawei Device's plans, the company will invest about CNY10 billion in the construction of the headquarters, which will focus on the research and development, sales, and value-added services of various devices. The project will include the company's research and development office center and a high-end training center.

This is not the first time for Huawei to build a plant in Dongguan. In 2005, the company set up a company at Songshan Lake, building a base for network communications products manufacturing and distribution in southern China. By 2010, the company's output reached about CNY10.36 billion and it contributed taxes of about CNY220 million.
