News from Jiangsu Provincial Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine is that Jiangsu has suspended the operations of 85 toy manufacturers since the province initiated a special campaign last year.
Jiangsu is a big toy exporter from China and is well known as the hometown of stuffed animal toys. Stuffed animal exports account for 90% of the province's total toy export. Before the special campaign, there were 396 certified toy operators and over 2800 toy processing companies in the province with a total of more than 200,000 employees.
Hu Guangjun, a director of JPAQSIQ, has told local media that the main problems of these 80 companies include ot paying attention to the international toy import regulations, having bad management or production conditions, and incomplete product tracking system. Hu says that these 85 companies can not resume their production until they pass the relevant reviews of JPAQSIQ.
