Walmart Sees Departure Of Top China Executives

Roland Lawrence, Walmart's chief financial officer for China, and Rob Cissell, the chief operating officer in the country, have reportedly resigned their positions.

According to local media reports, there are no announced replacements for these two top executives. This lack of secession could a sign that the resignations were abrupt.

Other foreign retailers have recently hit trouble spots in China. In February 2011, American electronics retailer Best Buy announced that it will close all of its nine stores on the Chinese mainland. Three years ago, Best Buy dissolved the company's Beijing office at China World Trade Center Office Building. Zhang Zhenyi, a representative from Best Buy China at the time, said that withdrawing from the Beijing market was a result of the company's internal adjustments.
