Shanghai, China (February 04, 2010) /ChinaNewswire.com/ — Residents and visitors to four of China's biggest cities can now access subway maps on their mobile phones. ExploreMetro has created an interactive map of the Shanghai Metro for iPhone and iPod touch called 'Explore Shanghai', which is already ranked in the top 10 travel apps in the iTunes App Store. There are also apps for the Beijing Subway, Guangzhou Metro and Hong Kong MTR.

Interactive maps on mobile phones can be automatically updated, unlike paper maps which quickly become out of date. The apps include a route-planner, allowing subway riders to calculate the time and price of a journey, and even work without an internet connection.
