U.S.-based consulting and outsourcing services company Amerson is setting up a global delivery center in Chengdu, Sichuan.

According to Dr. Rob Ouyang, the managing director of Amerson, the setup of the delivery center in Chengdu is very important to the company's regional and global development strategy. He added that the city has an exceptionally good investment environment, locally abundant talented resources, and highly efficient government services.

Amerson delivers its services and solutions through seven focused industry groups: automotive, building materials, chemicals, energy, electronics and high technology, food and agricultural products, and pharmaceuticals and medical products.

The Chengdu-based center, a part of Amerson Global Delivery Group will be primarily engaged in providing information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing services to Amerson's global and local clients.

According to Ping Pu, the director of the Information Service Center of the Sichuan Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, by leveraging on its local abundance of inexpensive skilled and less skilled workforce, solid public infrastructure, fast development of transportation networks, and favorable government policy incentives, Sichuan is able to attract 135 of the Fortune Global 500 companies to set up their manufacturing plants, R&D centers, and branch offices there.
