Spire Enters Multi-Year Contract With China's Trina Solar

Spire Corporation, a global solar company providing turnkey solar factories and capital equipment to manufacture photovoltaic modules worldwide, has announced that it has entered into a multi-year, multi-system contract to provide key module line equipment to Trina Solar Limited in China.

Spire will provide Trina Solar with several Spi-Sun Simulator 4600 Single Long Pulse systems. The 4600 SLP has recently been selected for use at research and certification test facilities, such as the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.

Roger G. Little chairman and CEO of Spire corporation said that they were proud of their simulation systems and that they are an industry standard. He added that Trina is a leader not only in China but in the world market and that the people at Spire were very excited to work with Trina on expanding their capability.

Jifan Gao, chairman and CEO of Trina Solar, said that from their years of experience in the PV module industry, they recognized the importance of having advanced equipment in order to produce high quality PV modules to compete globally. He added that Trina had developed a beneficial relationship with Spire and hoped to continue using their high quality products to help achieve Trina's goals.

Trina Solar is one of the few PV manufacturers that has developed a vertically integrated business model from the production of monocrystalline and multicrystalline ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of high quality modules. Trina Solar's solar modules provide electric power for residential, commercial, industrial, and other applications worldwide.

Spire Corporation is a global solar company providing turnkey production lines and capital equipment to manufacture photovoltaic modules worldwide while Spire Semiconductor develops and manufactures custom gallium arsenide solar cells and other related products.
