DHL First Retail Flagship Store Opens In Shanghai

After the opening of retail stores of UPS and FedEx in China, DHL Sinotrans, DHL's joint venture in China, has announced that it has opened its first China retail flagship store in Shanghai, marking the company's first step in retail network expansion in China.

Located on the first floor of Metro Bank Square, the store covers an area of 220.93 square meters. It supplies all express services that customers could originally get by phone.

DHL Sinotrans says that the company will open more retail flagship stores in major cities such as Beijing and Shenzhen by the end of 2008. In addition, it will gradually complete the upgrade of its more than 30 express centers in China to rebuild them as retail stores or satellite stores.

Founded in Beijing in December 1986, DHL Sinotrans is a joint venture that combines DHL's expertise in the global air express industry and Sinotrans' local knowledge in the China foreign trade transport market. It has developed a comprehensive service network covering 318 cities throughout China, with 50 joint venture offices.
