Yingli Green Energy, a Chinese vertically integrated photovoltaic product manufacturer, has entered into a new long-term polysilicon supply agreement with German company Wacker Chemie AG.

Xuzhou, Jiangsu based GCL Silicon Technology Holdings Inc is to supply Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. a manufacturer of photovoltaic cells and modules, with 9,420 metric tonnes of polysilicon and 1.1 gigawatt of silicon wafers from 2008 to 2012.

Fluor Corporation recently announced that its polysilicon project in China for LDK Solar, the solar wafer manufacturer, had logged more than two million craft hours without a single safety incident as at end of April 2008.
