China's Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Agriculture have jointly released the results of The First National Census of Pollution Sources.

Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Industrial Gases Company, a 50-50 joint venture between Praxair Inc. and Air Liquide, two leading global suppliers of industrial gases, was recently awarded a 15-year industrial gases pipeline supply contract to supply hydrogen and carbon monoxide to Bayer Polyurethanes (Shanghai) Company.

Industrial gas provider Praxair (China) Investment Company has set up a joint venture in Guangzhou with the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation; and this is the first alliance between the two companies.

Messer Griesheim (China) Investment Company has signed a cooperation agreement with Panzhihua New Steel and Vanadium Company, a subsidiary of the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group.

Praxair China has signed a long-term supply agreement with Nanjing-based Meishan Iron & Steel Company, a subsidiary of the Baosteel Group, to build two new air separation plants to come on line in the fourth quarter of 2009 and third quarter of 2010.

Praxair China has signed a 15-year supply contract with Jinlong Copper Co., Ltd., the largest copper smelting joint venture in China, located in Tongling, Anhui Province.
