TCL Brings In CNY46.5 Billion To Build LCDs In Southern China

TCL Group is forming a public-private partnership of organizations to create a new production line of TFT-LCD and AMOLED displays in Shenzhen.

TCL Group will cooperate with both the Shenzhen China Star Optoelectronics Technology and the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality to jointly build the 11th-generation TFT-LCD and AMOLED display product line project and set up a G11 project company with total planned investments of about CNY46.5 billion.

This G11 project company will have registered capital of CNY28 billion, of which CSOT will provide CNY11.4 billion. In addition, CSOT and TCL Group will be responsible for raising CNY18.5 billion in bank loans.

This new project in Guangdong province is expected to put into volume production in July 2019 and it will make 43-inch, 65-inch, 70-inch, and 75-inch LCD displays as well as super-large public displays and OLED displays.

TCL has already established industry-leading competitiveness in the LCD panel business sector; however, it has not yet distributed in the super-large LCD display sector with screen size of 65 inches and above. Over recent years, LCD TV development trend features larger size and higher resolution. Once the 11th-generation product line is completed, the company will have a richer product portfolio, which will help improve its comprehensive competitiveness.
