Foxconn's Parent Company Posts Net Profit Jump

Hon Hai Precision Industry, owner of Foxconn, announced its financial report for the third quarter of 2012, stating that its net profit was NTD30.3 billion, an increase of 58% compared with the same period last year.

Statistics provided by this Taiwanese company showed that its gross profit rate reached 9.54% during the reporting period, which was a record high since the fourth quarter of 2009. The high gross profit rate was mainly attributed to the operating revenue growth brought by Apple.

At the same time, the company's operating profit rate reached 3.43%, which was the highest since the first quarter of 2010.

According to Hon Hai's combined financial report for the third quarter of 2012, its after-tax profit per share was NTD2.57, marking 1.4 times increase over the previous quarter; its combined gross profit rate was 9.57%, the highest over the past 11 quarters; and its combined operating profit rate was 3.42%, also the highest over the past ten quarters.

Apart from consumer electronic products, Hon Hai's other high gross profit products like servers and storage devices also contributed to the good performance.
