Bridgestone Ups Its China Investment By USD98 Million

Despite the slowdown in the global economy, Bridgestone Corporation, Japan's largest tire maker, has said that it plans to invest an additional USD98 million to expand the capacity of one of its plants in east China.

According to Bridgestone the investment, scheduled to start in the second half of 2011, will enable the plant in the city of Wuxi to make an additional 4,200 tyres per day, increasing its total daily capacity to 12,000 tires.

Bridgestone has 48 tire plants in 22 countries.
