He Guili, a senior engineer from the Telecom Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry, has told local media that the Telecom Institute is working on making a general standard for such mobile phone fittings as batteries, earphones and address lists.

He also disclosed that currently all the mobile phone based television programs adopt analog technology, and MII has not developed a standard for digital television technology to be used on mobile phones.

Tan Wensheng, president of an online mobile phone transaction platform in China, says that the implementation of the mobile phone general standard won't have much effect on mobile phone manufacturers, but it will offer much more convenience for consumers.

On June 14, 2007, MII began to implement the Mobile Phone Unified Charger Standard, in which it asks that all mobile phones must use a charger with a unified access interface before they are sold on the market in China.
